Mike Henderson Obituary

Mike Henderson, age 69, passed away on February 26, 2026.

A native of Texas, Mike later made his home in Mississippi, where he graduated from George County High School in 1975. Over the years, he built a life defined by hard work, service, and an unwavering willingness to help others.

Mike worked as a carpenter and faithfully served his community as an EMT with a local ambulance service for many years. He also dedicated many years of service to the Palace, where he worked in the maintenance department while wearing many other hats along the way. Truly a jack of all trades, and master of all, Mike was the one everybody called when something needed fixing or when help was required—and he always answered the call.

A devoted member of First Church of Lucedale, Mike was heavily involved in church life and faithfully served on the security team. His helping spirit and commitment to volunteering reflected the deep care he had for both his church family and his community.

He treasured traveling to the mountains with his family, camping trips, riding motorcycles, and time spent outdoors. Mike had a love for old cars and enjoyed attending car shows whenever he could. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. Spending time with them, sharing stories, and reminiscing about his younger years brought him immeasurable happiness.

Mike will be remembered for his generous heart, steady presence, and the countless lives he touched through his service and kindness. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David George and Helen Clark Henderson; brother, Lavelle Henderson; parents-in-law, CJ and Barbara Mason; best friend, Ricky Josey; grand-dog, Izzy girl.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Patricia Mason Henderson; children, Lindsey (Adam) Champagne, Sara (Cohlby) Wells, and Chris (Theresa) Henderson; grandchildren, Samuel Michael, Sawyer Mason, Stella Katherine, Michael, Aubrey, Austin, Maranda, and Pyper, and beloved grand-cat Jax; numerous other relatives and friends.
